In the United States, several thousand flights were canceled due to bad weather conditions. This is reported by The Washington Post (WP).

"About five and a half thousand flights were canceled on Monday due to the weather, which prevents passengers from returning home after Christmas," the publication says. It is also clarified that, according to the FlightAware portal, more than 16 thousand flights were delayed.

Earlier it became known that over a million households in the United States lost light due to a severe snow storm. It was reported that at least nine people were killed due to the blizzard. According to forecasters, the weather situation will only worsen.
